Here in Nanwan, Kenting (Pingtung), this cafe is easy to miss from the road. The exterior has that classic Kenting vibe, with surfboards lined up out front — but step inside and it's a whole different world. The interior is stylish and beautifully finished, and best of all, a huge wall of floor-to-ceiling windows gives you an unobstructed view of the sea at Nanwan. Sitting here with a drink, gazing out at the ocean, is pure bliss. It holds the hardest rating to earn on Google — a full 5.0 stars. I highly recommend ducking in to rest, watch the waves, and escape Hengchun's blazing sun and heat.

The Wave is actually run by a local Hengchun swimwear brand, so they sell their own swimwear in-store. They also offer surfboard rentals, surf lessons, and SUP lessons — just ask the staff if you're interested. It's a pet-friendly cafe too, so expect to see plenty of dogs around.

The Wave sits directly across from Nanwan Beach in Hengchun. If you drive along Provincial Highway 26 toward Kenting you'll pass right by it, so it's very easy to find (Google Maps link).

An Ocean-View Cafe Made for Photos

Look out through the big floor-to-ceiling windows and you're staring straight at the sea of Nanwan, Kenting — on a clear day it's absolutely gorgeous.

The day we visited, Korean cheerleader Nam Min-jeong happened to be there filming a surfing YouTube video — proof that this place truly lives up to its Instagram-cafe reputation.

Seating is limited, but the tables are spaced generously apart so it never feels crowded. The air conditioning is nice and strong too — a great spot to cool off with a drink.

Mango Ocean & Lychee Rose — Signature Sparkling Drinks

We ordered two drinks this time. The Mango Ocean's color gradient is stunning — it really captures that Kenting seaside feeling — while the rose petals on top of the Lychee Rose give the whole drink a romantic touch.
