Located Inside Kaohsiung Grand Hotel, Elegant and Spacious

Wanshou Hall is located inside Kaohsiung Grand Hotel, and the whole space carries on the hotel's signature elegant Chinese-style design. The high ceiling makes the space feel more open, and the dining area is bright and comfortable without any sense of crowding. Large windows paired with soft lighting give the whole place a calm, relaxed atmosphere — great for family meals, gatherings with friends, or celebrating a birthday with elders.

Overall pricing is moderate for Kaohsiung, and the menu includes seasonal crab, so the price doesn't feel like a bad deal. I personally had a great time eating the crab~ I'd suggest buying meal vouchers, which give you better value overall — on weekends it's NT$990 per person including service charge, while a meal voucher is equivalent to a NT$820 lunch, offering even better value.

The Seafood Station Stands Out

The seafood station is naturally the star of any buffet. On-site you'll find plenty of chilled seafood, like white shrimp, whelks, crab, and sashimi, and the freshness was solid, with items restocked fairly quickly. If you love seafood, this is the station to hit first.

A Rich Variety of Hot Dishes

The hot food station offers plenty of Chinese and Western dishes, including stir-fries, fried items, and braised dishes, with flavors generally aimed at broad appeal. Some dishes rotate based on what's available that day, so there's always a new surprise on each visit. The day we went, the chef was cooking fresh squid rice noodles on the spot — the squid was very fresh with a nice bouncy texture!

Fresh-Cut Dishes and Chef's Recommendations

The fresh-cut meat station is another highlight, with the chef slicing on the spot and the meat maintaining a solid standard of quality. If you love meat dishes, it's worth going back for seconds here. The chef's recommended dishes are usually placed in a prominent spot, so don't miss them.

Desserts, Fruit and Drinks Station

The dessert station offers cakes, small treats, and seasonal fruit, paired with coffee and tea — the perfect way to wrap up a meal. The desserts aren't exactly over-the-top fancy, but the overall quality is consistent.

Overall Dining Impressions

For the price point in Kaohsiung, Wanshou Hall meets a solid standard both in ambiance and food quality — great for family meals, small company gatherings, holiday celebrations, or get-togethers with elders. If you're considering the Kaohsiung Grand Hotel buffet or an all-you-can-eat restaurant in Kaohsiung, it's worth putting on your list — though I'd recommend buying meal vouchers for better value.

If you're after an over-the-top, seafood-piled-high experience, this might feel a bit conservative. But if you value ambiance and dining comfort, this is a safe choice.
