As of 2025/11/1, Farfalla Hotel has been renamed QBE B&B Nanwan (QBE 民宿 南灣館) on booking platforms.
Plenty of Kenting guesthouses come with ocean views, but the prices are usually far from friendly. Farfalla Hotel, where we stayed this time, has a convenient location (Google Maps link) and a fantastic sea view. In late April, a regular Saturday night ran about NT$3,000 — and given how often Kenting room rates give me sticker shock, that counts as a normal price. Overall it was a really pleasant stay.
Farfalla Hotel: A Guesthouse with Unbeatable Ocean Views
This guesthouse offers great value overall: spacious rooms, a convenient location, and fairly easy parking. Best of all, certain room types come with sweeping ocean views and a balcony soaking tub — perfect for couples and family trips. We booked the "Moon Sleep" (月眠) room directly with the hotel. You can book via Booking.com, or better yet, add their official LINE "@273tzbca" or call to reserve. At NT$3,500 for a Saturday night, it felt acceptable — couples who love taking beautiful photos should be very happy here.
On most weekdays rates hover around NT$2,000–3,000, which is reasonable — not yet inflated. But when I checked summer-vacation dates, prices may bounce back to the full rate of NT$9,200, so do shop around and compare!
Right Across from Nanwan Beach — a Convenient Location
Farfalla Hotel sits directly across from Nanwan, making it super convenient for beach time — the sand is just a walk away. Driving to Kenting Main Street for dinner takes only about 15 minutes, so as far as Kenting goes, the location is excellent. Downstairs there's an ocean-view cafe and a 7-Eleven, which is pretty solid convenience for a resort area.
For the ocean-view cafe, check out my post on The Wave Surf Cafe (Chinese)!

The ground-floor lobby is spacious, with seating for resting and waiting. At the entrance there's a foot-rinsing station for guests coming back from the water at Nanwan Beach — a super handy touch and one of my favorite little amenities.

The hotel also provides indoor slippers to change into, plus a shared fridge for chilling drinks or any takeout that needs refrigerating.

The "Moon Sleep" Room: Farfalla's Unbeatable Ocean-View Suite
Based on the room photos on Booking.com, we picked the Moon Sleep room type — on Booking.com it's listed as the "Sea-View Suite with Extra-Large Double Bed".

You can see the sea the moment you step in. It's a one-bedroom layout with a living area and bathroom, decorated in a simple resort style.

The room is very roomy — there's more than enough space to add an air mattress or a crib.
It even comes with a hammock, though it's mostly there for photos.

Waking up to a wide-open ocean view puts you in a fantastic mood.

The balcony is huge too, facing Nanwan directly — you can watch everyone out on the water playing with the water-sports gear.

The bathroom is spotless, with a semi-separated shower area painted in a warm off-white that adds to the resort feel.
One nice detail: the bathroom has no grout-prone tiles — something I really appreciate.

A Rare Balcony Soaking Tub
A Japanese-style soaking tub on the balcony is a rare find at a guesthouse. Soaking during the day and at night each has its own charm, but either way it's pure vacation mode. If you're not into swimming in the sea, a Japanese-style soak at the guesthouse is a great alternative.

An evening soak paired with a bottle of beer — the ultimate way to unwind.
