In Taiwan, W Hotels sit firmly at the high end of the hotel scene, and for my birthday this year I spent two days and one night in Macau, staying at the W Hotel there. The price is what you'd expect from a luxury hotel, but because it's brand new, the rooms and facilities feel much more in tune with modern tastes than Macau's older established hotels, and the overall decor is noticeably more stylish. The location is excellent too — it's easy to head over to City of Dreams for The House of Dancing Water, hit the water park, or go shopping at The Venetian. If your budget allows, the W Hotel is a great choice.

W Macau Studio City: Location
The W Hotel Macau is located inside Studio City on the southern end of Cotai (not City of Dreams — that's to the north, and The House of Dancing Water is shown at City of Dreams). It sits right next to The Parisian Macao, and The Venetian is just a short walk away. The shuttle bus also runs directly to City of Dreams. Rua do Cunha in Taipa to the north is a bit farther, but with the shuttle buses everything is still fairly convenient.
W Macau Studio City: Lobby
The hotel lobby isn't large, but the decor is packed with Hollywood touches everywhere you look. There was quite a check-in crowd — clear proof that the W Hotel name draws plenty of travelers.

W Macau Studio City: Guest Room Space
The rooms at the W Hotel Macau are impressively spacious — exactly what you'd expect from a luxury hotel — and the design is thoroughly modern. Best of all is the full-height floor-to-ceiling window: looking out over the view from up here feels amazing. Our room faced the Cotai Ecological Zone, so if you'd rather face the city center, be sure to confirm in advance.

W Macau Studio City: Public Facilities
Gym
The gym here is well equipped, with towels and water provided. The treadmills and spin bikes face a full wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, so the view is excellent and working out feels great.

Swimming Pool
The pool's changing rooms, lounge area and lockers are all up to the standard you'd expect from a luxury hotel — I really loved the pool here.
