Compared with B&Bs in the city, this place is better suited to travelers who want to slow down and enjoy nature — you can also pair it with nearby Shimen Reservoir and Daxi Old Street for an easy two-day, one-night getaway.

The whole property is surrounded by mountains and greenery, with wide-open views — on clear days you can see ridge after ridge of mountains. Daylight hours are bright and pleasant, and the nights are wonderfully quiet, perfect for simply relaxing, taking in the scenery, or resting undisturbed.

We arranged dinner with the owner for seven o'clock, and by then the sun had already set, so there was no view outside. You can book dinner with the owner ahead of time so your food comes out right on schedule.
