To catch Mayday's 5525+1 concert — my first at the Taipei Dome — I planned a two-day, one-night Taipei trip with Lers. While hunting for hotels, I found that central Taipei hotels easily run NT$4,000 and up, but eventually discovered this one: a great location in Taipei's Xinyi District, around NT$3,000 a night, and rooms that looked pretty good. Best of all, it's only a 10-minute walk from the Taipei Dome — after the concert we walked straight back to the hotel and grabbed dinner on the way, which was incredibly convenient. It even includes a simple breakfast in the morning, which is quite rare at this price.
It has 4.5 stars on Google, and although the hotel does feel a bit dated overall, all things considered it's a very solid choice.
One thing to note: this hotel doesn't provide single-use amenities, so bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste.

Taipei Charming City Hotel

In Central Taipei — Excellent Location
Taipei Charming City Hotel is in Taipei's Xinyi District, close to Xinyi Anhe Station on the red line. The Taipei Dome, Taipei 101, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, and other key spots are all within walking distance — extremely convenient whether you're here for travel, work, or a show.
Clean, Comfortable Rooms, Clean Bathrooms, Strong AC
Charming City Hotel opened in 1990, so it's getting on in years, but the interior is still kept quite clean and tidy — I think even guests who are particular about their surroundings will find it passes muster.

Buffet Breakfast: Salad, Bread, and Egg Crepes
The dining area is right behind the ground-floor lobby and serves a simple breakfast. We got up rather late, so many of the buffet dishes were already gone, but the hotel restocked with some ready-made items like egg crepes, shaobing flatbread, and toast. There's also coffee, milk, cereal, and more.
