KW2 Warehouse (棧貳庫) is a popular attraction in Kaohsiung's Yancheng District (Google Maps link), right next to the Pier-2 Art Center, the Sizihwan ferry pier, the Great Harbor Bridge, the Kaohsiung Music Center and the railway park. Inside you'll find plenty of restaurants, shops and a creative-arts cluster, and the outdoor area is a working pier where you can hop on a ferry straight to Cijin without trekking over to the Sizihwan ferry terminal. Getting here is easy too — the light rail and MRT are both nearby — so on weekends both out-of-town visitors and Kaohsiung locals come here to wander around.
KW2 has one more big advantage: it's indoors! The summer sun in Kaohsiung is brutal, and this is one of the relatively few air-conditioned indoor attractions — if you can't stand being outside, this is a great place to come stroll.
KW2 Warehouse: Strolling the Sunny Harbor City
The entire Yancheng coastline is one long string of sights — you can spend a whole day slowly walking from Glory Pier all the way to the Gushan ferry pier, and KW2 is right on the way. On a weekend stroll along the Kaohsiung waterfront, pop in for a drink or some shaved ice and browse the creative shops — it's wonderfully laid-back. You can also check out Shinhamacho Cuisine Club (Chinese), and on Saturdays there's the limited-run Pier-2 Night Market (Chinese) to explore. Yancheng is also one of Kaohsiung's great food neighborhoods — you could spend the whole weekend here and never get bored!

KW2 Warehouse: Location and Transportation
KW2 occupies a two-story warehouse on the Yancheng waterfront, surrounded by attractions and transit options — very convenient.
Kaohsiung Light Rail
Take the light rail to Hamasen Station or Penglai Pier-2 Station, then walk about 5 minutes.
Kaohsiung MRT
Take the Kaohsiung MRT Orange Line to Sizihwan Station, Exit 2 — about a 5-minute walk.
Bus
Bus 99 (from MRT Yanchengpu Station), Red 52 (from Xinzuoying) and 248 (from the Cultural Center) all stop nearby — just Google the bus routes for details; it's very convenient too.
Driving / Scooter
There are parking lots all around, but on weekends there may be a bit of traffic and a short queue for a spot.
Ferry Pier
Right outside KW2 is a ferry pier (Google Maps link) with boats straight to Cijin. Tickets here are slightly pricier than the Sizihwan ferry — a full-fare ticket is NT$80, versus NT$20 with an EasyCard at the Gushan ferry pier — but both get you to Cijin, and you save yourself the trip over to Gushan to catch the boat.
KW2 Warehouse: The Space
KW2 is split into indoor and outdoor areas. The indoor space is a double-height, two-story hall with floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides — bright and airy during the day and very pleasant to browse. Save the outdoor area for the evening, a cloudy day or when you're catching the ferry; otherwise it really can get a bit too hot!
KW2 Warehouse: Restaurants and Food
KW2 is packed with restaurants of every kind. On a scorching midday, duck in here for lunch and hide from the sun, browse the shops after you eat, then take the ferry over to Cijin's old street — your day trip starts here.
KW2 Warehouse: Creative Cluster and Shops
Much like the Pier-2 Art Center, part of KW2 was built as a creative cluster for young makers, encouraging their creative spirit with related goods for sale — alongside regular shops too. Browsing at a leisurely pace can easily fill an hour or more.
KW2 Warehouse: KW2 Hostel (棧貳沐居)
Here's something special: there's actually a youth hostel inside KW2! All the rooms share bathrooms, and some are billed as having sea views — the full harbor-city experience. Even then-mayor Chen Chi-mai came to help promote it!
It has a 4.5-star Google rating. Weekday rates are NT$1,100 for a single and NT$1,600 for a double, but weekend prices run high — a sea-view double goes for NT$4,000. For rooms without private bathrooms, that's not exactly budget on weekends, and shared bathrooms come with the usual hygiene concerns, so weigh it up for yourself.
