Green World Ecological Farm is located in Beipu Township, Hsinchu County (Google Maps link). The park is home to a huge number of small and medium-sized animals, many of which are raised without fences, so most visitors can get up close for photos with the animals (just remember, no touching!). From what I saw, the animals here are full of energy — you can really tell Green World takes great care of them. Compared to some zoos where the animals look listless, here you can feel how healthy and lively they are. It's a great spot for a date, a family outing, or just a relaxing weekend stroll.

Visiting Tips
Green World Ecological Farm includes a zoo, a botanical garden, walking trails, animal talks, animal interaction sessions, a bird park, and a butterfly park, along with several restaurants and drink/ice-cream stands scattered around. There's no need to rush — take photos, sit down for a chat, and join in on the scheduled activities. Touring the whole park should take at least 4 hours. Afterward, head over to Beipu Old Street for some food and drinks — it makes for a really relaxing full-day trip.
Also, most of Green World is outdoors, so in summer it's worth bringing sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and maybe a small handheld fan for a more comfortable visit.

Location & Transportation
Green World Ecological Farm is located in Beipu Township, Hsinchu County. Public transportation takes quite a bit longer to get there, so if possible, I'd recommend driving or riding a scooter instead.
Driving or Riding a Scooter
Driving or riding a scooter is by far the most convenient way to get there — the park offers free parking.
Taking Public Transportation
If you're taking public transportation: by train, get off at Zhudong or Zhubei Station and transfer to the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle." By HSR, get off at Zhubei HSR Station and also transfer to the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle." Then ride the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle to the "Green World Station" at Provincial Highway 3, 79K, where you'll transfer to a shuttle bus into the park — you'll need to call the shuttle bus hotline at 03-5801000 ext. 9 to arrange it! (See the official website for details) That said, taking the shuttle bus takes longer and is less flexible schedule-wise, so I'd still recommend driving or riding a scooter yourself.
Inside the Park
The park is kept very clean and lush, retaining some of its natural, original character while still clearly showing signs of careful upkeep. It's a pleasant place to wander, and wild animals roam freely throughout the grounds — seeing a pelican strolling down the path for the first time was quite the novelty.
Biodiversity Discovery Hall — A Must-See!
The Biodiversity Discovery Hall is filled with all kinds of fascinating creatures, and best of all, you can get right up close to them (though not to touch!). I think this is the one area at Green World you really shouldn't skip.
Pelican Feeding Show
The pelican feeding show is another highlight here. Green World has several pelicans that roam freely outdoors, wandering around the park looking wonderfully goofy and endearing. At set times, keepers feed them fish, putting on a feeding show at the same time!
Alpaca Walk
You can actually spot alpacas in quite a few places in Taiwan these days, but seeing a whole herd grazing together at once still feels pretty special.
Wildlife Interpretation Center & Gift Shop
Since I was a bit short on time this visit, I missed the famous parrot show at the Wildlife Interpretation Center, but you can check out videos other visitors have posted on YouTube (link here) — plenty of people have already shared their experiences!
The gift shop has plenty of fun little items to browse, and it's a great place to duck into when it's too sunny outside, since it's indoors. The restaurant is also in this area — seating is a bit limited, so it's best to visit outside peak meal times if you don't want to struggle to find a seat.
Green World Bird Park
The bird park requires a longer walk to reach, but it's well worth the visit — home to many different kinds of colorful birds, all living freely within their designated areas.
Butterfly Ecological Park
On this visit to the Butterfly Ecological Park, I actually didn't see many butterflies fluttering about — instead I saw specimens on display and quite a few different insects. I think it might as well be renamed the Insect Museum!
